What Media Group (WMG) has committed a staggering \u20a640 billion to the development of Nigeria\u2019s domestic football leagues \u2014 the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) and the Nigeria National League (NNL), Completesports.com<\/em><\/a>\u00a0reports.<\/p>\n

The landmark investment represents one of the largest private-sector interventions in the history of Nigerian football and is expected to significantly reshape the structure, visibility and commercial sustainability of the two leagues.<\/p>\n

WMG Announces \u20a640bn Sponsorship Agreement<\/h2>\n

Speaking at a colourful unveiling ceremony in Abuja, packaged by top-tier sports management professionals, WMG Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Chichi Nwoko, described the \u20a640 billion sponsorship agreement as a bold and transformative commitment to Nigerian football.<\/p>\n

Nwoko explained that the 10-year partnership with the NWFL and NNL would deliver long-term financial stability for clubs and players, while repositioning both leagues for global relevance.<\/p>\n

What Media Group Targets Structural and Commercial Growth<\/h2>\n

Under the terms of the agreement, What Media Group will serve as the official title sponsor and commercial partner of both leagues. The investment will be channelled towards improved prize money, enhanced club subventions, better officiating standards, grassroots development initiatives and expanded media coverage.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis deal, I must say, is a bold commitment to building stable and viable NWFL and NNL competitions, while producing talents who will represent Nigeria from the junior to senior levels,\u201d Nwoko stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis \u20a640 billion investment is about sustainability, growth and global relevance.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0Commendation From League Administrators<\/h2>\n

Also speaking at the event, Chairman of the Nigeria National League, George Aluo, and Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria Women Football League, Modupe Shabi, expressed deep appreciation to What Media Group for the milestone sponsorship.<\/p>\n

They stressed that the funds would be judiciously deployed to drive meaningful development and promote professionalism across both leagues.<\/p>\n

The NNL and NWFL officials also thanked the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for providing an enabling operational environment.<\/p>\n

In addition, they hailed the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Bukola Olopade, for his commitment to the development and marketing of sports across the country.<\/p>\n
